Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

For your conventions... why not coming to Japan Expo in Paris this summer ?
It's always full crowded and I think many people buy dôjinshi and fan work stuff.

You should definitely try to apply for Sakura con (in Washington) in 2011. :3 It's surprisingly easy to sign up for an artbooth! Last year they only had 20 tables, but this year they've increased it to 40! Their website is Sakuracon.org if you're ever interested in selling art in America. x3
Anyways, it's a really fun convention - the biggest in the Northwest. Over 40,000 people came last year, so I'm sure you would get a lot of sells if you came! C: *thumbs up*
